<p>Today we hear the two contrasting birth experiences of The After Birth podcast host, Liv.&nbsp;</p><p>Being a same-sex couple, Liv and her wife used a sperm donor to conceive their babies.&nbsp;Having great luck with conception, it was a turbulent pregnancy that eventually led Liv to consider an induction. Amidst the cascade of interventions she was able to push back on the recommended cesarean and ask for more time; a choice that helped her avoid surgery but not the birth trauma that ensued.&nbsp;</p><p>When it was time to conceive their next child, she refused to give away her power this time around; choosing to dive deep into birth education.
