Radio Episode 113: Charlotte Bay Girls: Giselle - Fear

<p><em>The squawk and screech sound of the birds above made Giselle jump. She stared at the sky, dark menacing clouds grouped together in the middle, a sudden spark of lightning streaked the sky followed by a rumble of thunder.  Giselle gulped. A storm brewed in the horizon. The wind picked up and suddenly the trees howled. Panic seized her heart and she floundered to get out of her seat. She pulled again. She was stuck. Something or someone was holding her down. Giselle looked down at her belly. She was strapped with a seat belt securely around her waist. Laughter echoed around her and then with a big whoosh she felt herself fly to the heavens. Giselle screamed as another thunder boomed and covered her eyes so she would not see herself touch the lighting.</em></p> <p><em>“Make it stop.” She yelled. “Stop.” Her shrieks echoed in the darkening afternoon. A thunder roared.</em></p> <p><em>“Don’t panic darling. Daddy just wants you to fly higher.” At the sound of a male voice, Giselle turned her head on her seat and saw her dad. His kind eyes crinkled behind his glasses – he beamed.</em></p> <p><em>“Daddy.” Her voice squeaked like a mouse. “The storm.” She whispered and pointed at the danger that approached.</em></p> <p><em>“You are safe with me darling. No need to panic.” He soothed.</em></p> <p><em>She shook her head vigorously. She wasn’t safe. A big storm was coming.</em></p> <p><em>She wriggled in her seat to get away.
