Nationwide Protests By Childcare Providers Over Lack Of Government Funding

On Thursday's Morning Focus Alan Morrissey was joined by Deirdre Mowatt, Manager of Kincora Kids, Katherine Keys, a childcare worker at Obair Community Creche. Thousands of childcare providers also protested outside the Dáil and accross the country to demand increased funding for the sector. Hundreds of creche owners have closed for three days this week as part of the protest action, although the Department of Children said it had only received notification of closure from 64 creches.
