A Clare member of Active Retirement Ireland claims older people are facing a daily battle to make ends meet. It follows a new survey by group which highlights that over a third of members cannot afford a basic standard of living. A key component of the groups pre-budget submission, is a renewed call for the state pension to be set at 34% of the average working wage.
