1883: Alleged SSPDF soldiers storm Abegi village of Yei County, beating people and looting property

<div>Civilians in Abegi village of Yei County have fled their homes after a group of SSPDF soldiers reportedly stormed their area beating and looting properties on Monday morning <br> <br> </div> <div>According to an eyewitness, the incident was triggered by a member of the army who was reported missing after he went to the area to drink alcohol. <br> <br> </div> <div>This angered his colleagues who invaded the area and started beating civilians and accusing them of having a hand in the disappearance of their colleague.<br> <br> </div> <div>The eyewitness says some villagers were also taken away by the soldiers.<br> <br> </div> <div>Yei County Commissioner Aggrey Cyrus Kanyikwa has confirmed the incident but says an investigation team has been sent to the area to ascertain facts.  <br> <br> </div>
