<p>On this episode of Vaccine 411… Could the FDA delay a potential COVID-19 vaccine?</p><p>First, the latest vaccine news from around the world: </p><p>United States and Germany: US based Pfizer and German based BioNTech published data this week that Phase I trials of their vaccine candidate have proven safe and produce a higher immune response in subjects than patients that have recovered from the virus. Pending approval, they will move to Phase III with 30,000 subjects by the end of July. </p><p>Also in the U.S., Pennsylvania based Inovio, reported their vaccine is safe and they have seen immune responses. They plan to move to Phase II/III trials by August</p><p>Japan: Agnes Inc, began the first human trials for a vaccine candidate in Japan. The DNA vaccine will be tested on 30 healthy adults, they will review the data in two months. </p><p>India: Bharat Biotech’s vaccine candidate Covaxin has been cleared for Phase I human trials.
