<p>Safety is job one for us adult leaders. A big part of safety is <strong>Youth Protection Training </strong>(YPT). This is done online and can be printed out from there. Committee Chairman, Scoutmasters, and cub Masters can also lookup other leaders' status and get printouts from the website. &nbsp;Check your YPT status now. Do you remember “The Sweet Sixteen’s” of Scout Safety? Here is a quick reminder of safety concerns.&nbsp;</p> <ol> <li><strong>Qualified Supervision</strong> – Proper amount of trained leaders.</li> <li><strong>Physical Fitness</strong> – Aproperet Safe activities.</li> <li><strong>Buddy System</strong> – Time tested.</li> <li><strong>Safe Area Or Course</strong> – Have a backup plane.</li> <li><strong>Equipment Selection And Maintenance</strong> – The equipment/tools for the event is tested and working.</li> <li><strong>Personal Safety Equipment</strong> – Helmets and life jackets don’t work unless worn correctly.</li> <li><strong>Safety Procedures And Policies</strong> – All leaders need to make others aware of safety information.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Skill Level Limits</strong> – Know everyone's ability and stay within that level.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Weather Check</strong> – Be prepared for sudden weather changes.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Planning</strong> – Qualified leaders should go over the plan and Have an alternate plan.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Communications</strong> – Make others aware of the plans and back up.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Plans And Notices</strong> – Tour permits and permissions should be filed where needed.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>First-Aid Resources</strong> – First aid supplies and skills may vary depending on the activity.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Applicable Laws</strong> – All scouts must follow BSA policy's in addition to any local laws.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>CPR Resource</strong> – Strenuous activities should also always include a CPR trained leader.&nbsp;</li> <li><strong>Discipline</strong> – Scouts and Scouters can get severely
