Shannon Grandmother Spends 55 Hours On Trolley At UHL

On Friday's Morning Focus, Alan was joined by Michelle Marley, daughter of Mariea Marley. Mariea Marley is a 73 year old grandmother with dialysis that was left on a trolley for 55 hours at the University Hospital Limerick(UHL). Michelle described the process that her mother had went through that led to her being placed onto the trolley. She highlighted the pain the trolley had caused her mother and how it was a very difficult time for her. She explained that she wasn't always able to be with her mother due to her own circumstances and when she was able to visit her she felt that she was in the way due to the narrow corridor they were left in. Michelle conveyed her own disappointment on the hospitals situation regarding them being understaffed and the overall health care system that is in place. Michelle discussed that her mother never wants to go back to UHL's A&E.
