Radio Episode 144: Charlotte Bay Girls: Sophie's story - Can God heal our pain?

<p>"Seven-year-old Sophie Hayes wiped her swollen red eyes and leaned closer to her father. Her little heart melted with sadness as she looked at the shiny white coffin at the front of the church.<br /> Elaborate flower arrangements decorated its surroundings. Her mother lay sleeping in the white box. Sophie hoped she was warm and comfortable. How she wished she could tickle and wake her up, but her father had told her she would sleep until Jesus<br /> called her on the resurrection morning.<br /> Sophie didn’t really understand what it meant, but she knew her mother would not be coming home to tuck her in before bed, play tickles with her or do tea parties. At the thought of going home without her mother, fresh tears cascaded down her cheeks<br /> and fell in fat wet blobs on her immaculate velvet black dress. Her body trembled, and she drowned the pastors’ words he was saying about her mother, Celeste.<br /> Someone reached for her hand and squeezed it tight. She lifted her head slightly and saw her best friend and cousin Giselle with her big hazel eyes filled with tears, too.<br /> Relief filled Sophie as she grabbed hold of Giselle’s hand in hers.
