Man bags 2 years jail for stealing items worth N960,000

<p>An Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun State on Monday sentenced a 47-year-old man, Ugochukwu Sunday, to two years imprisonment for breaking into a company to steal a water dispenser and other items worth N960,000.</p>, <p>The Magistrate, Mr O. O. Okiki, sentenced Sunday to prison without an option of a fine, after pleading guilty to stealing, damages and burglary.</p>, <p>Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convict committed the offences on Oct. 17 at 5:30 a.m. at Ota.</p>, <p>He added that the convict maliciously damaged the ceiling while trying to break into the company.</p>, <p>He said the offences contravened Sections 390(9), 414 and 451 of the Criminal Code, Law of Ogun, 2006.
