Ilesa cult clashes: Osun police arrests suspects

<p>Some suspects have been arrested by the Osun State Police Command in connection with the recent rival cult clashes in Ilesa town.</p>, <p>Their arrest comes after the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke gave security agencies the go ahead to conduct special operations to fish out the perpetrators of the violence.</p>, <p>Also, DAILY POST had reported that four persons were gunned down in separate incidents on Sunday at Imo in a beer parlour and on Tuesday at Sabo, Irojo Junction in the ancient town.</p>, <p>The incidents occurred as a result of a supremacy battle between the Eiye and Aiye confraternities.</p>, <p>Yemisi Opalola, the Osun Police Command spokesperson, Yemisi Opalola confirmed the arrest.</p>, <p>Opalola added that operatives were still on the trail of some of the suspected perpetrators of the crime.</p>, <p>“We are still on the trail of some of the perpetrators. They are fleeing but we are still on their trail. Normalcy has returned to the town.</p>, <p>“We have made some arrests in connection with the incident, but I don’t have the number of those arrested presently,” she said.</p>
