<p>Senate President Godswill Akpabio lamented on Wednesday that Governors in Nigeria often engage in conflicts with their successors immediately after assuming office.</p>, <p>Akpabio, who spoke at the 60th birthday anniversary lecture and book presentation of Senate leader, Michael Opeyemi Bamidele, in Abuja, applauded the celebrant for his loyalty to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for over 30 years when he served as an aide to him in the National Assembly in 1992.</p>, <p>Senator Akpabio expressed displeasure with the attitude of some governors towards their successors, stating that there is no former governor who has not had issues with his successor.</p>, <p>He cited the examples of Senator Adams Oshiomole, Senator Adamu Ailero, and the issue in Ekiti state with Abiodun Oyebamiji.</p>, <p>“The Governor of Ekiti state is a great example of what leadership should be. He has remained steadfast. As a Governor, the moment you hand over power to your successor, he will turn on you, either his taste will change or his attitude.</p>, <p>There is no governor in Nigeria who has no problem with their successor apart from the Ekiti governor. That is why we have to celebrate Senator Michael Opeyemi Bamidele for the kind of person he is.”</p>, <p>Meanwhile, the Senate leader, in his remarks at the event, disclosed that the much-expected ministerial list will be received by the Senate in the next 24 hours.</p>, <p>Bamidele said that President Tinubu informed him in a phone call that he would not be able to attend the birthday lecture because of the communication he needed to submit to the Senate in the next 24 hours.</p>, <p>He added that the President called for prayers to assist him in making the right choice that would be beneficial to the country.</p>, <p>Speaking at the event, former Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Prof. Toyin Ogundipe, disclosed that the Federal Road Safety Commission (FRSC) and Vehicle Inspection Officers (VIO) have no business in the convoy of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim
