Fall Journal Club: Examining Front-of-Package Product Names and Ingredient Lists of Infant and Toddler Food Containing Vegetables

<p>Early experiences with food can shape children's food preferences and contribute to lifelong eating habits. It is recommended that parents and caregivers provide a variety of healthful foods to their infants/toddlers to facilitate exposure to a wide variety of flavors, textures, and nutrients. Almost half of parents feeding infants and toddlers provide some form of commercially produced infant and toddler food. These foods have packaging which includes a variety of information which can confuse parents, putting nutrition educators in the unique position to help demystify these packages.
