EPL: He likes to gamble – Jaap Stam on Man Utd defender

<p>Former Manchester United man, Jaap Stam has given his verdict on defender Tyrell Malacia, insisting that the 23-year-old likes to gamble at times.</p>, <p>Malacia arrived at Old Trafford from Dutch club Feyenoord Rotterdam last summer.</p>, <p>While Malacia has Luke Shaw ahead of him as the first-choice left-back under manager Erik ten Hag, Shaw was used as a central defender at times last season, opening a window of opportunity for Malacia to get more chances.</p>, <p>But Stam believes Malacia is a good man to have as a left-back behind Shaw.</p>, <p>“Well, you know, it is not easy for him because he has Shaw in front of him,” Stam said (via Man United’s website).</p>, <p>“He likes to gamble, at times, as well, and sometimes you need to be aggressive.</p>, <p>“I think he is a good man to have as a left-back behind Shaw. You know, when Shaw is not able to play or when Ten Hag is using him in a different position, he can step in and do that job without being a doubt for the manager to think about if he is producing or not.”</p>
