<p>This is Vaccine 411, the latest coronavirus vaccine information for June 14th, 2021.</p><p><br></p><p>An eye-opening statistic from Johns Hopkins, especially for those who think the pandemic was a 2020 thing. More people worldwide have died of COVID-19 already this year than during all of last year. 1.89 million reported in 2021 compared to the 1.88 million deaths counted as of December 31, 2020. Worldwide, an average of more than 9,000 deaths from COVID are still confirmed daily.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>With the Prime Minister on the verge of delaying 'Freedom Day', a new report by Public Health England shows almost a third of Covid deaths in the U.K. from the Delta strain had gotten both injections of a vaccine. The report also suggests the Delta variant has a 64% increased risk of household transmission compared to the Alpha variant and is believed to be 40% more transmissible outdoors.</p><p><br></p><p>They’re seeing something similar in China and Brazil. Doctors in southeastern China say the symptoms of the Delta variant are different and more dangerous than the initial virus. Patients get sicker and their conditions worsen faster. Chinese authorities did not say how many of the new infections are in people who have been vaccinated.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><p>Moscow's mayor ordered a week off for some workplaces and imposed restrictions on many businesses to fight infections that have more than doubled in the past week. He said, “it’s impossible not to react to such a situation.” Russia was the first country to deploy a vaccine but only about 12% of the population has gotten vaccinated.</p><p><br></p><p>If you think unvaccinated Americans are nervous about going out, think again. A CBS News poll shows they’re more "comfortable" going to a restaurant, bar or large event than the vaccinated are.
