Clare ICMSA Chair Says It's "Hard To See" Any Potential Upsurge In Those Pursuing Farming Careers

The Clare ICMSA chair says initatives are required to tackle the issue of scarcity of farm workers. It comes as three new apprenticeships have been announced through a number of agricultural colleges are the country with courses due to begin in September. A Farm Management apprenticeship with be available in Kilkenny and will lead to a Level 7 degree, while a Farm Technician apprenticeship will be available in Cork and Cavan and will result in a Level 6 degree. Meanwhile, a Horticulture apprenticeship can be enrolled in at the College of Amenity Horticulture in the Botanic Gardens in Dublin.
