Clare Health And Social Care Professionals To Commence Industrial Action

HSE Health and Social Care Professionals in Clare and throughout the country are set to commence industrial action next month to highlight concerns over career progression. It follows a union ballot, backed by 93.5% of members which included dieticians, orthoptics, occupational therapy, podiatry, physiotherapy, speech and language Therapy, social work and social care staff. Forsa claims the HSE have failed to implement a career pathway review for HCSP personnel in almost five years. Action is set to begin on September 11th and will begin with a complete withdrawal of co-operation with third level student placements. Fórsa Secretary for HCSP Staff Linda Kelly has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan that while patient appointments in the MidWest region should not be affected, action could escalate.
