<p>Tonight, we offer you Dana Janssen, who , with the help of Akron/Family, shook up the Indie Rock scene of the early oughts with an unhinged melange of folk, noise, and experimental rock. He&#39;d gone on to Young God Records label mates (and label founder Micheal Gira&#39;s) Swans extension The Angels of Light.</p><p>Dana married and relocate tp Portland, where, amid a home festooned with house plants, composed (the inferred) percussion to Mort Garson&#39;s cult electronic album that dropped in the year of my birth, !976. That record, Mother Earth&#39;s Plantasia, never reached worldwide acclaim, but made a massive dent in the underground. With a sketch of percussion, Dana allowed his surroundings to guide him. This is the zygote of Experiments In Plant Based Music Vol.1.</p><p>We dig into the NYC of the early 2000s, the influence of Bob Dylan, early Dead, Sonic Youth, Swans, Tortoise... a segue into horror soundtracks, the trappings of being from the Eastern Pennsylvania area...
