<div>South Sudan continues is one of the most logistically demanding countries in the world for humanitarian workers. The lack of adequate transport infrastructure necessitates the use of air transport to reach people in need of humanitarian assistance, especially in rural areas where 80 percent of the country’s population live. On marking the International Civil Aviation Day, head of the United Nations Humanitarian Air Service (UNHAS) in South Sudan, Geoffrey Mwangi tells us about how local South Sudanese are benefitting from skills transfer facilitated by running the service. </div>
