211.7: 2 #Kings 17-18: What Happens When You Reject #God and His Warnings?

<p>Over and over again, God warned the people of Israel, the northern kingdom, to repent and stop worshiping the idols and <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/2020/08/02/proven-truth-how-paganism-and-idolatry-started-in-the-church/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">pagan</a> gods. He sent <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/bible-study-the-prophet-hosea/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Hosea</a>, <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/bible-study-the-prophet-amos/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Amos</a>, <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/2021/11/01/isaiah-1-4-god-now-has-a-warning-for-judah-stop-your-evil-ways/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Isaiah</a> and other prophets (which we’ll get to eventually) to warn them, but &nbsp;they refused to listen. They would not change their ways. They were &nbsp;accustomed to the traditions of the people before them. Since c. 931 BC, &nbsp;they’ve been at this. That’s when <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/2021/10/02/1-kings-12-foolish-and-selfish-kings-destroy-a-united-israel/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Jeroboam split the tribes of Israel into 2 kingdoms, and made gold calves</a> to keep the people from going to Jerusalem to worship God as they were &nbsp;supposed to. It’s now c. 720-701 BC and the northern kingdom is about to &nbsp;be conquered by the <a href="https://giselleaguiar.com/2021/10/23/jonah-the-rebellious-prophet-a-command-from-god-and-the-big-fish/" rel="noreferrer noopener" target="_blank">Assyrians whom God prepared through Jonah</a>.
