1622: COVID-19 cases detected among South Sudanese in Palabek refugee camp, northern Uganda

<div>Eight South Sudanese have tested positive to COVID-19 in Palabek refugee camp in Lamwo District, Northern Uganda. <br> <br> </div> <div>The patients have been isolated by health partners and are receiving treatment in regional COVID-19 management centers located outside the camp. A community leader in the camp, Ochan Robert says surveillance and preventive measures have been stepped up and the refugees are being sensitized on how to prevent infection.  <br> <br> </div> <div>The Palabek camp accommodates up to sixty thousand South Sudanese refugees. <br> <br> </div> <div>Uganda has imposed a partial lockdown as the country experiences a second wave of infections. The number of cumulative cases in Uganda currently stands at more than sixty thousand.<br> <br> </div>
