Deep Space Supergroop

Sydney’s Deep Space Supergroop have released six albums since 2012, with Australian musician Rob Crompton as the one continuous member. The group plays melodic noise pop with a different approach to recording from album to album. Some are studio albums with a five-piece lineup, while others are solo bedroom recordings. Some use rock instruments, and others are electronic or feature experimental sounds like tape loops, found objects, field recordings, or text-to-speech robots reading science fiction stories by Rob. Although the sound differs between records, the concept of Deep Space Supergroop is always to make space music, which is minimal, repetitive, driving and hypnotic.
