Unless the child of God faithfully practices a daily regimen of "detoxifying," cleansing, and purification, he or she will inevitably become contaminated and filthy with the sins of the world. The world, the flesh and the devil will continually contaminate our souls with sin and degradation if we allow it. Everything around us seems to drench us with the filth of this world. The results will be manifested in progressive backsliding and spiritual DEATH! Oh yes, do not be deceived beloved! 📌 Listen, "...Dearly beloved, let us cleanse ourselves from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit, perfecting holiness in the fear of God," 2 Corinthians 7:1. Every born-again believer has been washed in the blood of Jesus Christ for cleansing. Every past sin that he or she has ever committed has been washed away, never to be remembered against them again. You cannot get any cleaner than blood-washed! Post-salvation, now that we have been forgiven, we: "Go, and sin no more" just like Jesus told us in John 8:11! Some of the OSAS camp often asks: "If I am cleansed by the blood of Jesus, why must I cleanse myself from all filthiness of the flesh and spirit?" "Why must I be bothered with "perfecting holiness" if I am born again? The answer is simple: WE ARE COMMANDED TO BE HOLY OTHERWISE, WE WON'T SEE THE LORD THAT'S WHY! "Make every effort to live in peace with everyone and to be holy; without holiness no one will see the Lord" (Hebrews 12:14). It’s vital to understand that, as the LORD’S redeemed people, we are made holy through Christ’s finished work, the offering of His body on the cross (Hebrews 10:10, 14; Ephesians 1:4; 1 Corinthians 1:2).
