Mariyam Siddiqui is a budding historian who after finishing her masters in medieval Indian history from Jamia Millia Islamia University, has used her love for Delhi and it's history to work as a researcher and heritage walk leader at DelhiByFoot Adventures, one of Delhi's leading heritage education group. Mariyam has spent the last three years researching on the tawaifs of India and their social, political and cultural contributions to the Indian society. A theme she feels passionately about as she endeavors to lift the taboos put on these enigmatic women.
