[Sounds a bit more classy?]</p> <p><br> <br> We're on a mission to help one million people RISE by 2030 - join the movement at <a href="http://www.myrise.co.uk/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">www.myrise.co.uk</a></p> <p><br></p> <p>Another incident referenced in the song ‘We didn’t start the fire’ is what is often referred to as the ‘Profumo affair’.</p> <p>A scandal which began in 1961 with politician and Secretary of State for War John Profumo having an extra marital affair with 19 year old Christine Keeler.</p> <p>The majority of the issue arose from Keeler also having a relationship with Yevgeny Ivanov (the senior naval attaché at the Soviet Embassy) and Profumo’s lying in Parliament when questioned about the situation.</p> <p>Interestingly, Wikipedia describes this ‘lying’ as “at that time was an unforgivable offence in British politics”.</p> <p>I believe it’s OK, if not encouraged, nowadays.</p> <p>Anyway, Christine Keeler (and her friend Mandy Rice-Davies) was widely described in the press as a “call-girl”.</p> <p>Meaning prostitute.</p> <p>Having just read up on it, it seems she wasn’t.</p> <p>She worked as a topless dancer, but the relationship with Profumo (and others) was just that, rather than a business transaction.</p> <p>Even thought I was born nearly 20 years after this occurred, I still have memories of it being referenced.</p> <p>And the term “call girl” stuck in my mind.</p> <p>Sounds relatively classy and pleasant, doesn’t it?</p> <p>Especially in comparison to the opposite equivalent of “rent boy”.</p> <p>Which sounds much more derogatory to all involved.</p> <p>A prime example of the words we use being powerful for creating a vision of how we see things.</p> <p>We describe what we’re doing eating wise as a “diet”………</p> <p>As “cutting out” certain foods………</p> <p>Even as “being good” (when we’ve got this side of ourselves that we like to describe as “naughty”)……..</p> <p>Then that frames how we see said eating.</p> <p>And how likely we are to do it.</p> <p>Over ti
