A Clare Independent TD claims Miltown Malbay lacks the sufficient resources to keep Asylum Seekers occupied into the winter months. It follows confirmation that the Central Hotel is to provide emergency accommodation for up to 42 single male International Protection Applicants. A twelve month contract will be offered to the provider, however, the Department if integration's briefing document states it’s not possible to determine the length of stay, due to the high number of IPA arrivals nationally and the scarcity of relative accommodation. Kilrush Deputy, Violet Anne Wynne has been telling Clare FM's Daragh Dolan she believes the government are deliberately peddling a 'sympathetic line' to appease rural communities.
