The weather pattern is in flux this week, switching from a polar vortex that brought the cold air over the last week moving off and a ridge of high pressure off the West Coast moving east over the Rockies. A couple of troughs will follow in its wake, producing some storm systems for early February. The air of pacific origin will be warmer and the troughs will have only marginally low temperatures with them. Having a trough out West with a ridge in the East promotes a storm track through the middle of North Country, bringing storm systems through the Northwest U.S. with good precipitation, into Colorado, Wyoming then turning northeast through eastern Canada.
