Celebrities Say Only Women Are Women. Is Transgender Movement Fading?

<p>Singer Macy Gray and actress Bette Midler made headlines recently for saying only women are women.&nbsp;</p><br><p>The two celebrities made their bold statements—bold for this day and age, at least—over the July 4th holiday weekend.&nbsp;</p><br><p>“WOMEN OF THE WORLD! We are being stripped of our rights over our bodies, our lives and even of our name!" Midler, 76, wrote on Twitter. “They don’t call us ‘women’ anymore; they call us ‘birthing people’ or ‘menstruators’, and even ‘people with vaginas’!&nbsp;Don’t let them erase you! Every human on earth owes you!”</p><br><p>Gray, 54, appearing on Piers Morgan's show on the Fox Nation streaming service, discussed the issue of transgender "women"—biological men—competing on women’s sports teams.&nbsp;</p><br><p>“I will say this, and everybody is going to hate me, but as a woman, just because you go change your parts, doesn't&nbsp;make you a woman,” Gray said.</p><br><p>Famed “Harry Potter” author J. K. Rowling has <a href="https://www.dailysignal.com/2021/11/29/the-persecution-of-j-k-rowling-at-the-hands-of-the-oppressed/" rel="noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">repeatedly been maligned</a> for making similar comments to those of Midler and Gray.&nbsp;</p><br><p>The increase in celebrities’ willingness to say "only a woman can be a woman," raises the question: Is the transgender movement on the ropes?
