She graduated at the age of 17, turned 18 in October and joined the Army in December and never really looked back at NJ. Jan spent 3 years in the Army, mostly assigned to the Military Police School as a Company Clerk. In 1976 she got her Honorable Discharge, staying in Anniston AL for a few years. In 1980 she went to Germany with her now ex-husband for a year and then moved to Philadelphia, PA where she worked in the Investment Banking Industry. Jan divorced and met Abe, her current husband, online through a mutual friend. She left her life in Philly after 19 years and moved to Cumming GA to marry Abe. Jan worked briefly for ReMax but got bored and moved on to manage a Self Storage Facility and a Construction Office in Cumming. Cumming was starting to get crowded, so they bought our house in Dayton TN. Jobs were NOT plentiful in Dayton unless you want to work in a factory/plant, so for 'fun' and 'play money', she was a part-time cashier at a local grocery store for 8 months and then a part-time cashier at Lowe's for 6 months.
