117: All things SUBTYPES: One of the number one reasons why you are mistyped on the Enneagram

Here’s why many of you are mistyped...⁣<br />⁣<br />Today, we’re discussing subtypes, also called instinctual variants. Subtypes are how you can have two of the same Enneagram type look totally different from one another.⁣<br />⁣<br />Listen now⁣<br />⁣<br />⁣<br />Whereas your main Enneagram type doesn’t change, your instinctual variant can.⁣<br />⁣<br />Usually it’s really dominant in one way until we do some work on ourselves. Early on in my life I was living much more only in one subtype, but now I can toggle between two different subtypes fairly easily.⁣<br />⁣<br />Subtypes can alter what an Enneagram type looks like.⁣<br />⁣<br />And this is exactly why so many of you are mistyped! ⁣<br />⁣<br />When I let someone know their type is different from what they expected, I usually guide them to look at their subtype—self-preservation, social, and/or one-to-one—which makes a lot more sense to them.⁣<br />⁣<br />It’s not complicated, but it is complex.⁣<br />⁣<br />That’s because the Enneagram has so many different levels to it.
