Why are the last days so depressing?

<p>Despite the technological advancement and spread of Christianity we've seen in these last centuries, the world's future seems to be getting more and more bleak. There is more bad and bad news and the burden on our shoulders and the shoulders of our children is growing steadily. &nbsp;</p> <p>As followers of Christ, this begs the question: what's going on? Where is God in all this? Why are things so bad right now?
