RHAPSODY OF REALITIES THURSDAY 18 NOVEMBER 2021 PASTOR CHRIS TOPIC: WE ARE LIGHTS KEY VERSE: Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness (1 Thessalonians 5:5). In Ephesians 5:8, the Bible says, “For ye were sometimes darkness, but now are ye light in the Lord: walk as children of light.” And our theme verse says, “Ye are all the children of light….” You’re a child of light, and if you’re a child of light, you’re light. That’s exactly what the Scripture says. Hallelujah! The Lord Jesus, talking to the Jews, said, “While ye have light, believe in the light, that ye may be the children of light...” (John 12:36). He told them to believe in the light, that they may be the children of light. But they didn’t. We believed, and we received eternal life and became children of light. Glory to God! John 8:12 says, _*“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” This is amazing. Also, think about the words of Jesus in John 9:5; He declared, “As long as I am in the world, I am the light of the world.” What does He want your life to be like? He shows us in Matthew 5:16: “Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.” Philippians 2:15 says, “That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world.” We shine as lights in a dark world. We have the heart of the Father. John 3:16 says, “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son….” Therefore, we must love the people with the Father’s love. It’s part of shining as lights in the world. When Jesus said to let the world “see your good works,” He was talking about works of righteousness. Put your best into preaching the Gospel, turning men from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan to God. That’s the true so
