Survey Church History Episode 10: Saved by Grace Through Works: Medieval Salvation Theology

In the Middle Ages, two dominant views of salvation emerged. The via antiqua followed Augustine closely on matters of grace and predestination, while the devotio moderna explained the relationship of grace and works much differently. Early Protestants critically appropriated the via antiqua while vehemently attacking the devotio moderna.
