<p>A Los Angeles strip club owner in the 1970&#39;s owes a gambling debt to the mob. When he can&#39;t pay the back the money, the mob forces him to kill a Chinese bookie to settle his debt. In the hands of a less capable director, this film would be dismissed as B-movie-exploitation-schlock. But, The Killing of a Chinese Bookie is directed by John Cassavetes. The man who invented indie films as we know it.
