Out d’Coup LIVE | Sara Aniano, social media misinformation researcher, on right-wing extremist rhetoric from the People’s Convoy to the Buffalo shootings

<p>On this episode of Out d'Coup LIVE, I welcome Sara Aniamo to the show. Sara Aniano is a researcher who recently graduated from Monmouth University with a master’s in communication. Her work on social media misinformation and the rhetoric of the far-right has garnered nationwide media attention. She aims to use her expertise in the future to clean up the information ecosystem online.</p> <p>Her new article, "Deflection and Denial Following the Buffalo Terror Attack," published by the Global Network on Extremism and Technology," looks at right-wing media's response to the white supremacist that killed 10 people at a supermarket in a black Buffalo neighborhood. </p> <p>Aniano was one of the graduate student researchers featured in a recent CNET article, "The Unsung Force Digging Through Misinformation," who have been on the front lines exposing QAnon, anti-vax misinformation, and right-wing conspiracy theories.
