Mama you have Furry Family? Meet This Mama that turned her love for animals into a family business!

Your pets are your extended family and you want the best for them when it comes to food, toys, and even fashion. Meet Leelee mother of 4, well 6 if you count her pets! She and her partner had an idea and ran with it to create a community space where furry pet lovers can not only come to get all their essential supplies, but they can also come socialize with other animal lovers! Their store Shipyard K9 provides a nearby option in the community for folks that can’t travel far including elders, and it’s also creating an opportunity for her kids to learn about responsibility, business and marketing. As a woman of color business owner she is one of very few in the industry and this representation matters! She’s been able to accomplish all of this while holding down a 9-5 job and raising her children – oh and did I mention, she lost about 100 pounds to get healthier for her family!
