We continue our rewatch of the Harry Potter series as we graduate into the “darker” Potter films — 2004’s The Prisoner of Azkaban and 2005’s The Goblet of Fire! Special guest Ryan Chollet again joins us as we hit all the highlights: dissecting Azkaban’s time travel; noting how the Hogwarts staff regularly and carelessly places their students in harm’s way; we get sidetracked on how the wizard global economy functions; we are forever confused at Michael Gambon’s performance as Dumbledore; and we praise how the films step up their game with performances, cinematography, and dramatic stakes, even as they strain at times adapting so many pages into 2.5 hour movies.
