Gunmen invade old Oyo National Park, kill one, injure many

<p>Some gunmen reportedly invaded the old Oyo National Park in Saki East Local Government on Monday.</p>, <p>Sources who sent pictorial evidence to DAILY POST claimed that at least one person had been killed and two others abducted.</p>, <p>A source, who asked not to be named, further claimed that many people were also injured while one of the abductees managed to escape.</p>, <p>The names of the man killed during the invasion and the abducted victim have not been made public as of the time of filing this report on Monday.</p>, <p>However, the Public Relations Officer of the Oyo State Police Command, Adewale Osifeso, in a statement, avowed that no life was lost during the incident.</p>, <p>According to him, preliminary investigations revealed that some local vigilante groups around the location, while in pursuit of alleged abductors, engaged them in a gun duel, resulting in three of their members (vigilantes) sustaining injuries.</p>, <p>“Consequent on the above, it is important to note that no life was lost; the injured are presently responding to the medical intervention availed to them at the hospital,” the statement affirmed.</p>
