Gospel of Mark - Mark 11:1-14 - Prog 54

<p>As we journey on with the Lord Jesus, we now turn to Mark 11. Our Lord, having come out of Jericho, is proceeding on to Jerusalem. </p> <p> In these first 14 verses of chapter 11, our Lord is pictured as one who will enter into Jerusalem on the back of a colt, the foal of a donkey. As Dr. Mitchell mentions, this fulfills Zech.9:9 where it was prophesied that the Messiah would ride into Jerusalem on a donkey and the people were to rejoice. He will yet come to them. </p> <p>But in this instance, He was coming to them, not to reign as their King but as a savior to die on the cross for their sins, and yours and mine.
