Gospel of Luke 24:34-45 - Prog 106

The two disciples returned to Jerusalem to the 11 disciples. They spoke of seeing and hearing the Lord Jesus on the road and how He had opened the Scriptures to them. We are in Luke 24:34 to begin. They told the 11 disciples that the Lord had risen indeed and that He appeared to Peter. Dr. Mitchell goes on to speak of this special meeting between the Savior and Peter who needed extra personal encouragement. Then we move on to Jesus’ appearance to all these disciples to encourage and prove that He was Himself physically alive. Our Lord directs their hearts to what the Scriptures said about Him, the Christ, in the Law of Moses, the Psalms and the prophets. The Lord exposits the Word of God to His disciples.
