From East Germany to the Movies with Jack Poessiger

<p>Jack Poessiger immigrated to the United States after having escaped with his father from Leipzig in the former East Germany.</p> <p>Jack worked his way up in the motion picture industry first as a theater manager and later as Director of Marketing, Publicity and Public Relations for the Commonwealth Theaters, Inc. circuit.</p> <p>He also spend several years in television where he worked as Promotion and Production Manager at KAYS-TV, part of the Kansas Broadcasting System.</p> <p>Jack served two terms as President of the United Motion Picture Association during which he oversaw its annual Show-A-Rama convention in Kansas City.</p> <p>He hosted radio station KY-102's weekly movie magazine called 'Jack Goes To The Movies' for 20 years as well as another 10 years on 99.7KY.</p> <p>Jack also covered the movie scene for KMBZ, 61 COUNTRY, KXTR, TIME WARNER CABLE, TCI and TELECABLE.</p>
