Fire service recovers dead body of 21-year-old girl from well in Kwara

<p>A 21-year-old mentally-handicapped girl was on Saturday recovered dead from a domestic well in Ilorin, the Kwara State capital.</p>, <p>The victim, identified as Hamudat of Ile-Kangu Compound, Pakata area of Ilorin, in llorin West Local Government Area, Kwara State, fell into a well but was recovered dead.</p>, <p>The spokesman of the state fire service, Hassan Adekunke, disclosed that the terrible incident took place at about 14:55hrs 02:55PM.</p>, <p>He said, “The Kwara State Fire Service swiftly responded to a rescue operation at Ile Kangu Compound, Pakata area, Ilorin, where Hamudat, said to be a mentally-handicapped 21-year-old lady, had fallen into a domestic well.</p>, <p>“The skilled firemen successfully recovered her and safely handed her over to her father, Alhaji Suleiman Issa,” he added.</p>, <p>The Director of Kwara State Fire Service, Prince Falade John Olumuyiwa, advised the general public to prioritise safety, and to be more careful in their day-to-day activities.</p>, <p>He also cautioned against sending underage children to fetch water from domestic wells.</p>
