<p>Remember that part 2 of the IELTS speaking test is a long turn in which a candidate must speak at length on a given topic. Preparation time is given to organize ideas and students must show control of a wide range of features. Here, I'm giving feedback on the main four aspects: grammar, vocabulary, discourse, and pronunciation.</p> <p>The question was:</p> <p><strong>Describe an interesting story that you heard or read about in the news.</strong></p> <p><strong>You should say:</strong></p> <ul> <li><strong>when you heard or read about the story</strong></li> <li><strong>what the story was about</strong></li> <li><strong>why the story was in the news</strong></li> </ul> <p><strong>and explain why you thought the story was interesting.</strong></p> <p>Charmchuree did very well, and I'm happy to say that she would get a solid band score that would be around the B2 level.
