<p>Jim James is one of the founders of Rock &amp; Roll for the Inland Empire. After his father purchased a small radio station in Southern California, it was Jim who started pushing rock into the radio format. The spectrum of rock at 96.7 KCAL had begun. As the years followed Jim put KCAL on the Map. Starting with just 6 rock albums the station flourished and became one of the most popular rock stations in Southern California!</p> <p>&nbsp;</p> <p>In this episode we talk to Jim about how KCAL went from Elevator music to Rock. We talk about the early days of radio and how they promoted artists in the beginning. Jim tells us of a young musician calling and asking for an interview. Turns out it was Sammy Hagar!
