Court remands sales girl for stealing employer’s N2.3m

<p>An Ebute-Metta Chief Magistrate’s Court, on Wednesday, heard how a sales representative of a food vendor, Goodness Innocent, allegedly stole N2.3m from her employer.</p>, <p>Innocent, 21, is facing two counts of conspiracy and stealing preferred against her by the police.</p>, <p>The police prosecutor, Inspector Cyriacus Osuji, told the court that the defendant and others still at large conspired to commit the alleged offences.</p>, <p>Osuji said Innocent stole a bank Automated Teller Machine card from the complainant, one Kehinde Odiye, who was her boss and withdrew N2.3m.</p>, <p>He said the incident took place on July 16, 2023, around 5pm, at No. 168, Awolowo Road, Ikoyi, Lagos State.</p>, <p>According to him, the offence committed contravened Sections 411 and 287 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State of Nigeria 2015.</p>, <p>Magistrate Olanike Olagbende granted the defendant N1m bail with one surety.</p>, <p>Innocent will, however, remain in the Kirikiri Custodial Centre until the bail conditions are met.</p>, <p>Magistrate Olagbende adjourned the case till August 10, 2023.</p>
