According to the CEO of eBay, the company is considering crypto payments and already accepts NFTs

<p>In a phone interview, Jamie Iannone stated that the e-commerce platform aspires to be the marketplace for Gen-Z and millennials. </p> <p>The big e-commerce platforms have yet to embrace cryptocurrency. Almost none accept digital currencies as a form of payment. </p> <p>But it's reasonable to say that whoever is the first to do so will become a topic of discussion in the crypto realm. </p> <p>EBay is looking into the potential of accepting cryptocurrency as a form of payment. According to TheStreet, the company could make an announcement on March 10 during its investor day. </p> <p>"We're just finishing off our shift to manage payments, where we're now directly managing $85 billion of volume on our platform," Iannone told TheStreet. "This enables us to introduce new payment methods." </p> <p>"We activated Google Pay and Apple Pay. We have a partnership with Afterpay in Australia, which is a platform that appeals to Gen Z and is a buy now pay later platform on the marketplace "Iannone continued. </p> <p>"As a result, we are continuing to investigate various modes of payment that we should accept on the site. We do not yet accept cryptocurrencies on the platform." </p> <p>Iannone is adamant that Gen-Z is a top priority for his platform. For example, he cites the various measures undertaken by eBay to attract today's and tomorrow's consumers. eBay is concentrating its efforts in particular on transactions involving sneakers, one of its fastest-growing product categories. </p> <p>With sneakers, "we're catering to the younger age, where they're coming in selling their sneakers, becoming a collectable collector on the platform, and they're establishing new marketing skills," Iannone explained. </p> <p>Does this indicate that eBay will accept digital currencies like bitcoin and ethereum as payment?
