2026 WCQ: Bayer Leverkusen star, Tella reacts to maiden Super Eagles invitation

<p>Bayer Leverkusen midfielder, Nathan Tella, is relishing the chance to wear the green and white colour of Nigeria.</p>, <p>Tella has been handed his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles for 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe.</p>, <p>The 24-year-old was also eligible to represent England but opted to play for the Super Eagles.</p>, <p>“It’s a great feeling and a great opportunity for me. As a young boy and a footballer, you dream of representing your own country – and now I finally have the opportunity to do so. I can’t wait and I’m really looking forward to it,” he told Bayer Leverkusen’s official website.</p>, <p>The games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe offers Tella the opportunity to make his competitive debut for the Super Eagles.</p>, <p>Nigeria and Lesotho will clash in a matchday one fixture at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium, Uyo next Thursday.</p>, <p>Jose Peseiro’s side will do battle with Zimbabwe three days later at the Huye Stadium, Butare.</p>
