#102 Sowing HOPE in Young Women - Gwendolyn Young and Jacqualine Barnes Story

#102 The Seed of Hope Foundation was initially started by Jacqueline Barnes but has since been entrusted in the caring hands of her daughter, Gwendolyn Young. The foundation was created to empower young women to fulfill their God given gifts and talents. There are too many young women in situations where they feel alone and isolated with little hope of rising above their present circumstances. Gwendolyn and Jacqualine want to make sure these young women know their worth and have the skills, abilities and HOPE to change their lives for the better. Emotional intelligence as a life skill is positively connected to a teenage girl's ability to develop a healthy self-perception, healthy relationships, and cope with challenging life situations. By providing life skill programs that create a safe environment, teenage girls can develop critical skill sets in communication, decision making, and goals to combat destructive behaviors. By strengthening their self-esteem and building emotional intelligence, Jacqualine and Gwendolyn believe their organization is providing their girls with the fertile soil in which to grow other aspects of their lives.
