My Development Experiences in Asia, Africa, and the Americas: Health, Nutrition and Water
Opara Favour
الوصف
Roesel tells of his work in Africa, Asia and the Americas, helping communities get critical services for their survival. He recounts what he saw, what the people told him, what his studies at Hopkins, the University of Georgia, and other universities taught him, and what the literature reported should be done and could be achieved. Then he tried out the approaches and technologies in communities all over the world. Frequently, when he arrived, he was shocked. He tells why. After consulting, analyzing and getting feedback, he designed approaches to solve the worst problems. He included baseline and final evaluations in his projects and continual improvement methods to adjust the projects to feedback. The projects were frequently very successful. Eventually, Roesel, responding to the urgent needs and strong drives of starving, sick and dying people, went further than the international donors were willing and was excluded from development work. In this memoir, he tells the positive conclusions he drew from his decades of experience.Read more
