Weeden takes us on a riotous romp reliving the late ‘60s zeitgeist. A group of young students look for the ‘Heres’ of the Bay Area and weave us through Fillmore West and the emerging music scene, drugs, relationships, death and redemption. The question of People’s Park – why were protestors shot and killed when all they wanted to do was build a park from trashed University lands – remains a cultural challenge to this day. Or was it just Ronald Reagan manipulating the University for his political ambitions? Perhaps these questions are no longer relevant but understanding this epoch – this new ‘Lost Generation’ – remains as culturally fascinating as ever.Read more
